Sr. Estimator
This position is: Contract
Salary: commensurate with experience
Position Location: Houston
Minimum of ten (10) years experience with Refining, Oil, Gas, and Chemical Estimating core processes and procedures.

Minimum of seven to eight (7-8) years experience as an Estimator.
Extensive knowledge and experience in EPC estimating practices and methods, including demonstrated ability to organize, direct, perform, review and present cost estimating products with a minimum of supervision.
In-depth knowledge of project schedules and ability to extrapolate costs curves based on first hand experience of scheduled-activities/cost correlation analysis.
Demonstrated thorough understanding of established cost index, escalation calculations, and projections. Technical and practical comprehension of Refining, Oil, Gas, and Chemical engineering,
procurement and construction methods and techniques.
In-depth knowledge of the applicable Bechtel Estimating work processes and systems.
Knowledge of cost engineering and estimating industry standards for administrative and supervisory procedures and practices.
Knowledge of current industry and technical developments.
Knowledge of global market pricing and construction practices.
Advanced knowledge in the use of technology for executing work processes. Proficient in Microsoft and scheduling software

Prepares general and/or discipline estimates for capital cost and/or services estimates. Develops basic conceptual estimates. Takes a lead role in estimate reviews and presentations. Provides and supports data and cost analysis. Uses, develops and oversees the maintenance of estimating databases. Provides technical and operational supervision to assigned personnel. Executes simultaneous tasks within broadly defined parameters.

Prepare, review or supervise the preparation and presentation of discipline estimates with a minimum of supervision;Propose, implement and use new automation techniques to enhance discipline estimating processes. Has sufficient knowledge of the estimating process to develop conceptual estimates.Supports project organizational and administrative activities. Provides technical and operational supervision to assigned personnel.

Additional for Discipline Estimator: Prepares estimates in specialized discipline areas using current techniques and market pricing. Guides others in the area of expertise. Work with estimating and project control teams to develop, maintain and provide user support for several enterprise applications. Including BETK, CORe and several other estimating tools. Design and develop programs for conversions, interfaces, and/or reporting for estimating. Work with project business
analysts and technical team leads in gathering and understanding requirements to design solutions that produce best practices and improves work process. Reviews design scope criteria and quantities for completeness and reasonableness, coordinates with the project to develop additional estimating bases when information is incomplete. Establishes the conceptual scope of studies when definition is not available.

Participates in establishing pricing structures to be applied to quantities for estimates.
Performs cost and price analysis to establish price reasonableness. May participate in discussions with vendors.
Reviews labor estimates for reasonableness.
Take a lead role in estimate reviews and presentations.
