BS/MS degree in engineering discipline, preferably chemical or electrical, with preferably at least three (3) years of industrial experience. Experience with preferable all phases of capital projects e.g. concept development, estimating, detailed engineering, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and start-up Experience with EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) companies and process analyzer systems integrators is a strong plus. Experience in process analyzer systems would be a strong asset, This would encompass detailed knowledge and application experience of process analyzer systems technology including sample systems and interface with process control systems. Experience with PSC instrumentation; would be a plus. Experience with Pharmaceutical industry and GMP would be an asset. Experience in industrial chemical production units and operations and awareness of surroundings from a safety and environmental point of view. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to monitor a group of Bayer and/or contract personnel with a wide range of engineering and design specialties. Ability to work with people at different levels of management, at different levels of engineering and design, and with internal customers as well as suppliers of PCS materials and construction services. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in written and verbal form, to instruct others in technical matters and obtain cooperation from various personnel. The process analyzer engineer is responsible for performing engineering for industrial process analyzer systems installed in new or existing facilities in chemical/pharmaceutical production units. This includes: selection and specification of analyzer systems for intended applications; project coordination between engineering, maintenance and operations; preparation of all engineering and design documentation for installation and maintenance of systems; project management including scope, schedule, and cost controls; commissioning and start up assistance with maintenance and process analyzer support. The process analyzer engineer will support development of new analyzer applications and will maintain close contact with operation, maintenance, engineering, process development and support to implement improvements in the field. Knowledge o f appropriate standards and codes is necessary to ensure installations are safe and reliable. This includes responsibility for projects varying in size where analyzer systems are involved. The incumbent will perform as an expert liaison between project engineers, plant maintenance, and production personnel.
