Location: 77079, Katy Frwy, On-site positionThe engineer will be required to:
  • Perform stress analysis and/or review and update existing analyses of piping systems connected to critical rotating equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, filters, Compressors , tanks, Turbines and Air coolers using Caesar II software to qualify piping in accordance with ASME codes, project standard and project specifications.
  • Evaluate calculated stress results, displacement stress range, and pipe support loads.
  • Perform Finite Element Analysis for special piping fittings for evaluating stress intensification factor “SIF” for determining fatigue failure.
  • Review and approve project drawings; maintain communication with the project team, the client, and construction personnel.
  • Work with other engineers and designers in the resolution of the technical issues.
  • Perform dynamic modal analysis for calculating piping natural frequencies to prevent operational vibration issues, potential piping fatigue and provide a safe plant.
  • Update, approve and seal engineering calculations for final turn-over to client.
Requirements:Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related, plus fifteen (15) years’ experience in performing piping stress analysis in accordance with ASME codes and standards, utilizing Caesar II software for the oil and gas or energy industry.PE Licensed (Preferred)- Must be licensed as a professional engineer in the State of Texas and willing to apply/obtain license in other states as well.Technical Skills: Caesar II, Smart Plant Review (SPR), NavisWorks, Finite Element Analysis using FE Pipe, Nozzle Pro, FE Bend, FE SIF, Finite Element Flange Leakage Analysis
